These are standard Ethereum methods. Your wallet calls them as usual. Veilify Network answers with private semantics.

eth_chainId

Returns the Veilify Network chain ID, not Robinhood Chain’s. This is the chain ID wallets sign for, and the VIRTUAL_CHAIN_ID every proof is bound to.

eth_sendTransaction / eth_sendRawTransaction

Intercepted. Never broadcast as-is. The proxy decodes the signed transaction:
  • Recipient has an inbox key → private transfer
  • Recipient is a public address → private withdrawal (Instant, or matched to a prepared Round intent)
The proxy proves the operation and relays it. The returned hash identifies the Veilify Network transaction. Follow it with eth_getTransactionReceipt and veilify_getWithdrawals.
Reference wallets submit through eth_sendTransaction, with wallet_sendTransaction as a fallback. The frontend never exports a key or calls a separate “submit” API.

eth_getBalance

Returns your private ETH balance, computed from your decrypted, unspent notes.

eth_call: balanceOf

balanceOf(you) on a whitelisted token returns your private balance of that token.

eth_estimateGas

Returns the estimate used for the relayer fee, with its buffer applied once.

eth_getTransactionReceipt

Returns a receipt for a Veilify Network transaction once its private operation is included on Robinhood Chain.
If a send times out or the network drops the response, don’t resubmit blindly. Reconcile with eth_getTransactionReceipt and veilify_getWithdrawals first. The reference client marks such legs maybe sent and suppresses automatic retry.
